Historical Ballad, Eastern Georgia. This is a patriotic song sung by a Georgian stranded outside the homeland.  Many people say it is the story of Giorgi Saakadze, (a 17th century military figure with a complicated relationship to Georgia -- more info) .  It talks about Georgia as a little diamond of a homeland and and uses the highest form of endearments to talk about its importance and how much the singer/narrator would sacrifice for love of his country. lale lale divlidala lale
